Free coffee starting at 11? I’m IN!
What a marathon of beer drinking, food eating, and bike bullshitting. A more robust recap is on the way, but here are a few choice photos from the very end of the party:
DasBike Presents:
DasBike-In Movie Nights
What: A monthly series of community, food, beer, and bike-related films. Bring your bike in, lay your blanket out on the floor (picnic style, but inside), grab some food & beer, and enjoy the show.
When: The fourth Tuesdays of January, February, & March.
7:30pm – Show up
8:00pm – Films start
Earlier – If you’d like to volunteer to help cook dinner, we could use folks as early as 4.30pm! Email dasbikesf at gmail to help out!
Where: Cyprian’s Center at 2097 Turk (at Lyon). Please note that this will be held INSIDE! No need to bring loads of warm layers or whatever.
Why: Cyprian’s is a community organization that I care about, and you should too. Cyprian’s Center aims to be “a community-based, volunteer-driven hub of collaboration that connects artists, advocates for a more resilient and sustainable future, and anyone seeking a deeper sense of community.” The Center needs to renovate the kitchen so we all can do more events there. Bike-In Movie Nights will be another opportunity for folks to check out the space and get involved. To learn more about the kitchen renovation project, visit http://www.cyprianscommunitykitchen.org/
Cost: Dinner and movies will be free of charge (donations of any amount will be much appreciated). We’ll be reaching out to community partners to donate food as well as gleaning food from farmers markets in the days leading up to the event. Comrades Brewing will be selling beer, with the proceeds going right back into the kitchen renovation.
Bring stuff to take food home in, in case we have leftovers!
April 29:
Email dasbikesf at gmail to help out!
Info taken from SFFixed:
The format is simple: get in a costume, do a quick ride from Rapha at 6pm, and end it at Biergarten in Hayes Valley! This is the final stammtischride we are putting on for the year, so come on out!
FAQ:
How fast is the pace?
-We call it “conversational pace”, meaning it’s a mellow and social after-work ride. Average speed is around 15-17mph.
Who is welcome?
EVERYONE! Bring a bike and a helmet and some lights and you’re set to join us.
Do I have to dress up?
Uh, yeah. Well, not really, but you will regret not doing so because you MAY be the only one not in costume. So do it. Be a kid again!
Do I need to bring a lock?
Newp! The owner of Biergarten helps host this ride, and we are granted indoor (sort of, it’s a fenced in outdoor beer garden) parking and it’s awesome.
What in heaven’s name is “stammtischride?”
“Stammtisch” is the German word for a regular, friendly get-together. We also have a custom painted “stammtisch” table at Biergarten!
Do I have to be over 21 to join you guys at Biergarten?
Not at all, but they will card you if you buy a beer. They have great food and some non-alcoholic beverages as well!
Leaves Rapha at 6pm, finishes at Biergarten at 8pm. Halloween parties all night after that. Sounds like a great way to start off the evening.

DasBike Presents:
Pie Ranch Barn Dance Campout
Saturday, January 18, 2014, 9am
Meet up at Village Market (8th Ave & California) for a 9am rollout. Come earlier for coffee and pastries.
Roll to the farm in Pescadero
Pick up beer and some food staples in town (goat cheese and artichoke bread, anybody?)
Make dinner, drink beer, hang out
Ride out to Pie Ranch for the monthly barn dance ($10-$20 sliding scale). We might be able to get a ride to the dance in the short bus, but if y’all have been to the farm before, you know how noncommittal Lance can be.
Dance our asses off and ride back to the farm for more hang out and camping
Ride back Sunday
Self-supported ride
Throw some cash towards the farm if you can
This is a VERY loosely planned ride compared to other events we’ve hosted, more like a ride amongst friends than a full-scale production. We’ll be free to discuss our route and all that jazz in the morning. There’s no event fee for this, but please be prepared to bring food/drink or buy some in town to share with all. There is a limited capacity for this event, so please sign up in advance here.
